White Street Brewing Co. is the first manufacturer to bring the robust flavor and variety of craft beer to Wake Forest. Our quality and commitment are equal to the big brewers, but with us you get small-town charm combined with an "everybody knows your name" atmosphere. Our historic downtown location is a gathering place for beer enthusiasts and novices alike. Come into our brewery and witness small-batch beer production at its best. Our on-site taproom has a seat waiting for you and a pint or growler ready to pour.
We're always creating and tinkering with recipes and there's always something new brewing at White Street for you to enjoy in your favorite eating & drinking establishments, in our taproom or to take home.
Three types of White Street Brewing Co. craft beers will be brewed and sold within our facility and beyond. Can't decide which beer is the tastiest? Order a flight from our on-site taproom and enjoy several.
1. Standard beers
These are our standard brews. You can find them being served in the tap room pretty much all the time.
The White Street Kolsch-style Ale pours an old-gold with a fine, white head. A subtle fruitiness aroma extends to the palate with hints of pear and melon. Crisp and refreshing.
Pouring a deep mahogany, White Street Scottish Ale produces a tight tan head that gives way to a complex maltiness. Herbal and spicy notes play nicely in a caramel essence to produce a beautifully sessionable beer.
Your tastes may change with the seasons and so will at least one of our craft beers.
The White Street Stout is brewed to the UK export style. Notes of mocha, light smokiness, and a creamy mouthfeel round out this heavily roasted brew. The perfect choice for the winter months. 6.5% abv. 35 IBU
3. Limited Editions
Whether the result of a tasty experiment or a serendipitous "Ooops!", these are one-time beers available for a limited time only. When they're gone, they're gone!
The White Street Belgian Pale is an easy going copper colored ale with a fluffy white head. A bready malt backbone is delicately balanced with spicy phenols derived from fermentation. This brew offers a surprising amount of complexity while retaining great drinkability. 6.2% abv. 25 IBU.
The White Street Centennial IPA is a single hop IPA that showcases the pungent aromatics of Centennial hops. Orange peel and fresh evergreen dominate the nose and are balanced by a crisp American malt character. 7.3% ABV. 68 IBUs
Take it Home in a Growler
The same craft beer you enjoy in our tap room can be taken home in a 64-ounce White Street Brewing Co. growler. There's no better way to enjoy it straight from the factory.
In the days before bottled beer became common (mid-1800s), if you wanted a beer outside of a saloon, it most likely was draught beer filled and carried out in a growler--which back then looked like a bucket. Origins of the word growler is much disputed, but it's said that the constant conflict between bartenders who traditionally filled the two-quart pail with a pint of beer and the customer who wanted it filled to the top caused the "growling". Today's White Street Brewing Co. growlers are a half-gallon, brown glass bottle with a secure lid.
